Types of Student Visas

F-1 Visa: For academic students enrolled in accredited U.S. colleges, universities, or language training programs. 

 

M-1 Visa: Designed for students pursuing vocational or non-academic studies.

Application Process

1. Acceptance by SEVP-Approved Institution: Secure admission to a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)-certified school.

 

2. SEVIS Registration and Fee Payment: Enroll in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and pay the I-901 SEVIS fee.

 

3. Obtain Form I-20: Receive the Form I-20 from your institution, a crucial document for your visa application.

 

4. Visa Application: Complete the Online Non-immigrant Visa Application (Form DS-160) and schedule an interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate.

Employment Opportunities

  • On-Campus Employment: Permitted during the first academic year under specific conditions.

     

  • Off-Campus Employment: Available after the first academic year through programs like Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT).
